Pressure Smart XD1900 pads are dense Australian Merino wool knitted into a backing, with more than 1900 grams of wool per square meter. They reduce pressure, shear and moisture on the skin like a medical sheepskin, but can be machine washed and dried, and the bed overlays resist urine. Pressure Smart XD1900: Which Pad?

XD1900 is made with the Sliverknit process: Merino wool is knitted into a backing material instead of staying on a hide. The result is a very dense pile, nearly twice the wool density of most sheepskins, that is easy to launder. Use it as a lower-cost, easy-care alternative to a medical sheepskin.

XD1900 packages

Care

Machine wash in Woolskin on a gentle or wool cycle. Dry on low heat and low agitation and finish on a rack: wool does best with about 15% moisture left in it. The dense pile stops most spills passing through, so small spills can be wiped with a damp cloth.

Frequently asked questions

XD1900 or medical sheepskin?
Both are dense Merino wool. A medical sheepskin is the wool on its natural leather backing; XD1900 is wool knitted into a fabric backing, so it costs less and is easier to machine wash and dry. Compare them in bed sore prevention pads and products.

Is it a bed sheet?
